Good Planning and Hard Work; Two Critical Keys to Prosperity

What are two keys to prosperity?

“By the book” tells us that there are two keys. Number one is good planning. Number two is hard work. So good planning and hard work, lead to prosperity.

Don’t we all know people who are great at planning? They have these elaborate plans, they have these flow charts and elaborate diagrams with their goals charted out and color coded and in a binder. They can tell you exactly what they want and when they want it, and how they’re going about getting it. But yet, it’s all talk. There’s no action.

In a similar way, we also know those people who are hard workers, but they don’t really take the time to think about what they’re doing, how they could do it better, why they’re doing it, or what the end result is that they are going for

Both are important. We have to have a very clear cut goal of what we’re going after. We have to know exactly what we want, we have to have clarity of focus. We have to have the plans to implement it, but then we have to put action to those plans to bring them about.

Planning without hard work will not take us to prosperity, nor will hard work without good planning take us to prosperity.

Think of another example; the individual who has earned a lot of money from their hard work, however, they also lack the discipline to invest it wisely. And they spend everything they have and more. Almost before they earn it.

If we have a plan of where we are going to put the money, of how we are going to invest it, of what the end result is, we will enjoy prosperity. Both are critically important.

So let me ask you, do you engage in both? Are you more of a planner? Are you more of a hard worker? Do you have a clear cut goal for what you’re going for? Do you know the steps, the actions you need to take to reach a goal? And are you putting them on your calendar? If I were to see what your day looks like and how you’re spending your time would it reflect that you’re actually moving towards your goal, that is a priority for you?

So today, take the time. Think about what it is you truly want. Think about the steps you must take to reach that goal. And then also take those necessary actions to move you closer to those goals. “By the Book” tells us that good planning and hard work, lead to prosperity.

Here’s to a prosperous future for all of us at “Our Future Best.”

“By The Book” Intro

I’m excited to be bringing to you today the beginning of a new series entitled “ By The Book.” But first a little bit of background about “ By The Book.”

When I was very young, a friend of my parents introduced me to an ancient book of wisdom that he said contained the secret of success in life.

In fact, this document was so valuable that it had managed to survive hundreds of years. Even though many people in power had tried to obliterate this book because they were fearful of the truths and the principles that it contained getting into the hands of the common people.  Those who were in power wanted to maintain their control over others. Even today, there are those in positions of authority who are attempting to suppress and remove this book,

So there were many attempts to wipe out this book to; get rid of it through burning, outlawing its publication, and through confiscation of copies of this book.

Yet this book has managed to survive in spite of that opposition. I will be  bringing those principles to you, because they have proved incredibly helpful to me, and I think they will for you also.

I have found that this book is so incredibly packed with life changing principles that I have read this document hundreds of times over the past 30 years. I have read this document daily, and continue to find amazing discoveries. I invite you to this journey with me, only you will have a 30 year head start.

This book is fairly small, maybe 50 to 60 pages in length, depending on size of print. Yet you could say that every line is packed with powerful principles.

I begin this series of “ By The Book” because I believe if we apply these principles to our lives. that we will achieve success in all areas of life whether that is with our families, with our friends, in our business dealings, in our health; in every area of life that it will impact them in a positive way.

We touched on one of these principles recently on the importance of clarity.

I believe  that one of the key principles is knowing exactly what we’re to be about. Whether that relates to  business, to our health, or in any area of life. We must ask  what is the end in mind that we’re looking for.

What is it that we want to accomplish? You know we can’t be fuzzy and vague and expect to hit it.  Zig Ziglar said that we can’t hit a goal that we don’t have. We have to be very clear, very focused on what is the end of mind, the end result that we want to accomplish and  then keep that in front of us constantly and move towards that.

Let me ask you today. What is it that you are focused on? What is your goal? I encourage you to actually set goals in all areas of life: in your finances, in your health and fitness, in your key relationships, in your recreation, in all areas of life.

What is the goal that you’re shooting for? In the next 30 days, 60 days, 90 days, six months in a year.  I encourage you to begin tracking your activity towards those. If you want to drink eight glasses of water a day. I encourage you to keep a chart handy. And every time you drink a glass of water check it off. That way you at the end of the day you know whether you’ve accomplished that goal or not.

The same is true in our exercise. If we keep records of what we’ve done, what we’ve accomplished and what we failed to accomplish, we can take corrective action the following day, and get a better result.

So what is your focus? What is your goal? What are you hoping to accomplish? Do you have clarity in your life?

That’s one of the key principles of living “By The Book.”

Let me encourage you to do that today and to begin asking yourself and answering the question, What am I focused on?

We’ll be back the next time to talk about another principle that will help us to succeed in life as we live “By The Book.”

Divinely Designed; Law of Creation, 7

Did you know that you are Divinely Designed, that there is within you a God Code? We’re here to help you unlock that God Code within you to bring forth that Divine Design that is within you, that calling, that unique purpose within your life that the world desperately needs.

We believe that you and I, we humans are created in the image of God. And God is a Creator. Therefore we also have a creative ability. We’re able to bring forth results in our life. Now while we are not able to bring forth something out of nothing, we can create results and we can proclaim life, blessing, and favor over our lives, and those that we care about.

As we look at the law of creation, we’ve been looking at different aspects, different elements of the law of creation. Today we want to talk about the law of creation as it relates to rest.

We read that after completing creation, that on the seventh day God rested. He took the time out to review, to reflect, to enjoy the work he had done the previous six days. We have heard that all work and no play makes Joe or Jane a dull person.

We cannot spend all our time constantly creating, constantly at a high pitch or fast pace, constantly creating. We need a time to get away, to step away to clear our minds and to be refreshed, to be renewed, so that we can come back with a greater sense of focus, a greater awareness of renewed energy for facing our task of bringing forth our best work.

So we cannot always keep up that pace of creating, working, and producing. We need consistent and regular times of rest. We need to enjoy the work of our hands. The work of our minds whatever our work is we need to take the time out to enjoy that–to enjoy the benefits and to be with those we care about most, whether they be friends or family. To spend one day a week. getting away from that which is our primary focus to clear our mind.

How are you doing? Are you observing a day of rest?

I’m not saying you have to go sitting at church for eight hours, I’m saying, Are you getting away from your purpose, your calling, and just freeing your mind, doing something completely different. Getting a fresh perspective on your calling and on your life, but not thinking about it.

By being with those that you’re doing it for.

So I want to encourage you to schedule time this week for your day of rest.

Now go out and make today an Amazing Day.

Divinely Designed; Christmas Eve

Did you know that you are divinely designed; that within you, there is a God Code?  We’re here to help you unlock the God Code within you and bring forth the Divine Design that is within you.

Hi, my name is Steve Lewey and today is December 24–Christmas Eve. This is a day that we who are believers in Jesus Christ celebrate and commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ.

Now what does Jesus Christ and His birth and Christmas have to do with the God Code within you and the Divine Design process?

Quite a bit actually.

We read in the account of the creation that we as individuals are created in the image of God; that is why we are Divinely Designed. And that is why we have a God Code within us.

The problem came about because we also had an enemy. And if we were to put this in more modern terminology and think of computers. It is as if we had someone send us a Trojan virus or some type of malware, a bug to corrupt our system.

We have an enemy who put in a flaw, a design flaw a, a bug, a virus, so to speak, a computer virus within the God Code within us. And over the course of time Christians have referred to that malware within us, as sin, which does not allow us to operate fully or to function fully at our optimum best. It corrupts the whole system.

The beauty of Christmas in the coming of Jesus Christ, is to root out that problem, to correct that bug, and correct that bad programming that has been placed within us under which we’re operating.

It’s because of that bad programming; that flaw that many of us don’t realize who we are. We fail to live up to our full potential. We do not realize that we do have a God Code within us because we’re no longer able to recognize what the truth is. We have been corrupted.

The beauty, the joy of the Christmas season is that Jesus Christ came to correct that computer flaw, to make us right with God, so that we can fully fulfill the Divine Design within us; that we can fully unlock the God Code within us.

You could say that Jesus Christ is the master key to unlocking the God Code within us.

How do you go about applying that specifically to your life? It begins with recognizing that the God Code within us has been corrupted, that we have been operating under faulty beliefs that do not serve us. That does not allow us to see ourselves as who we truly are.

That we are unable to accomplish what we truly want to accomplish. Because the whole system has been corrupted. Recognizing that there is that disease of sin within us that does not allow us to reach our full potential on our own, and recognize that Jesus Christ is a solution to that problem.

In fact, history tells us that Jesus Christ was crucified–killed–in order to bring about that correction of the God Code within us. Correction begins with acknowledging that we are separated from God and that we cannot fully live up to our purposes, our potential. We cannot fully unlock that God Code within us because of that corrupted file within our operating system called sin.

And then, acknowledging that and realizing that the only solution to our problem is allowing Jesus Christ to come in and unlock the God Code within us.

That’s kind of a simple explanation of what happens, but it is true. And we’re here to help you to unlock the God Code and to fully and completely live out YOUR Divine Design.

It all begins by  allowing Jesus Christ to come in and unlock God Code within.

We’re here to help you. We have resources available for you.

Have you allowed Jesus Christ to unlock the god code within you?

Merry Christmas!

Make today an Amazing Day.

Divinely Designed; Law of Creation; 6

Did you know that you are Divinely Designed; that within you there is a God Code? We’re here to help you unlock the God Code within you and to bring forth the Divine Design that is within you.

We believe that you have a unique purpose, a calling on your life, and that the world desperately needs that which only you can offer. We believe that we as humans are created in the image of God. God is a Creator and like God, we can create things–results in our life. We may not be able to create something out of nothing, but we are able to bring forth results, we are able to speak words of blessing and and life and abundance over our lives and those that we love. We’re here to help you do that.

We’re looking at the law of creation and today we’re examining that aspect of the law of creation that has to do with associates.

As you go forward and bring about your purpose, your calling, you’re going to reach a point where you have more to do than you have hours in the day. You need individuals to help you bring forth your calling fully. You need associates.

Now this could be through hiring someone on a part time basis in your calling. It could be hiring a virtual assistant. It could be finding someone that will assist you with tasks around the home.

Maybe you need to devote more hours to your calling, and you can free up those hours by hiring someone to take care of the yard or to come in and clean the home to sit with your kids.

Or maybe you need someone to do research for you. And you hire someone off of Fiverr. Maybe you determined that you need someone to design a logo for you, or you need someone who can manage social media for you.

Perhaps you need an individual to assist you with doing simple repairs on cars like oil changes, while you focus on the more difficult repairs like a brake job or working on a carburetor .

Examine your work. Examine your purpose, examine your calling and determine what is it that you uniquely need to do and that only you can do? What are those things that you can delegate out to others who may be able to do it better than you. at a lower price and you would be using your hours to do what you are best equipped and trained to do?

I knew an individual once who was in sales. He was very successful in sales. He was probably averaging about $1,000 or more per hour. And he said it was foolish for him to spend time doing something that he could hire someone to do for 12 to $15, an hour. Why would he spend his time doing 12 to 15 dollar per hour work when he was capable of earning $1,000?  It would be better for him to spend his time earning the $1,000 and paying someone to do those administrative tasks for him.

So what can you do in your calling? What are  those things that you are doing but you really don’t do them that well and they don’t really support you as much as your primary thing, and they’re actually kind of a drain on you?

Who can you bring along to help you? Who are those associates you need to work with you to bring about your purpose, your calling into life?

We go into greater detail and all of these laws of creation in our “Unlocking the God Code Within You” course. Please check it out.

Now go out today and make today an Amazing Day.

Divinely Designed, Law of Creation;5

Did you know that you are Divinely Designed that there is within you a God Code? We’re here to help you unlock that God Code within you and to bring forth the Divine Design that is within you.

We have said that we as humans are created in the image of God and that God is a Creator God. We also have that ability to create and while we cannot bring forth something from nothing, we are able to bring forth accomplishments in our life; we are able to speak blessing, life and favor over our life.

We’re looking at the law of creation, and we’re looking specifically today at what I’m going to call that aspect of creation: adornment, pleasure, or beauty.

You know, many times, there’s a last finishing touch that we can put on our work that sets it apart. That makes it unique. Just a step above what all the others provide in the marketplace with whom we’re competing.

My wife is an interior designer, and she has shared with me that oftentimes she’s gone to a client’s home to assist and maybe the room was pretty much already all together but the only thing remaining was adding a piece of artwork or an accessory, or maybe just moving a few pieces to create a certain focal point.

I’m not suggesting that we spend endless time tweaking our work, and never putting it out there, but I am saying that before we sign off it is worth a final look over and to ask if there is anything I can do to make this better? That commitment to continuing improvement is important.

For example, maybe you’ve taken your car to the shop before for repairs. You notice that in addition to doing the mechanical repair they provide you with a complimentary wash and vacuum cleaning of your car interior. They didn’t have to do that, they went above and beyond. It stood out as being something memorable and something special.

So what can you do in a similar way, in your work? What finishing touchcan you add?  What beauty can you add to your work? What will set it apart, make it unique, make it different, make it better?

Again, I am not suggesting that you spend endless time and never ship your work or get it out there; but do a once over make sure that this is your better work, if not your absolute best– at least better than what’s out there.

That’s the law of creation as relates to adornment beauty and pleasure. Let’s  examine our work for how we can make it better.

Now go make today  an Amazing Day.

Divinely Designed; Law of Creation, 4

Did you know that you are Divinely Designed, that within you, there is a God Code. We’re here to help you unlock that God Code within you to bring forth the Divine Design within you; to help you bring forth that which is placed within you that the world desperately needs.

We’re talking today about the fact that we as humans are created in the image of God. God is a Creator God and so we have the ability to create. Unlike God we’re not able to bring something from nothing but we are able to bring forth things in our life, we are able to speak life, favor, and blessing into our life and to bring about new things.

We have been spending some time looking at the laws of creation. Today we want to talk about the law of Seasons. Look around, and observe life, the course of a year. We have winter, spring, summer, and fall, each season is unique.

If you think about winter. It often looks like everything is dead except for a few flowers like pansies that are bringing forth color. There’s usually lots of snow on the ground. The trees are bare with exception of the evergreens, and there’s not a lot of apparent activity. It’s almost as if the trees and nature itself is resting and preparing and getting ready for the next season.

Then we think of spring when new life bursts forth. We observe new growth on the trees and new leaves and flowers, and there’s just a buzz of activity. And of course we next have summer. There’s that continuing process of the growth that was begun in the spring.

And then in fall the leaves fall off the trees and they change colors. And we bring in the harvest of vegetables. And then we would begin the cycle all over again,

There are seasons to the year, there’s also seasons to our life or seasons to our calling.

Have you identified those cycles within your calling?

My brother in law is a mechanic and he’s noticed there are certain times of the year that he is busier than others. So he has planned his life accordingly. Sometimes when life is somewhat slower, at work, he spends his time taking care of projects at home and around the yard.

He loves to fish, and that’s important to him so he has time that he scheduled in for fishing; and so he plans his work accordingly. So he’s aware of the seasons and adjusts his work.

The same is true for your calling. There are certain times of the year that will be busier than others. Realize that on a consistent basis that there are times that you need to rest, to prepare, to implement, and  that you need to harvest.

So I want to encourage you to take the time to identify those seasons, those cycles that are unique to your calling and to your purpose.  Begin to identify those seasons and determine how you can maximize and get the most use out of each season, realizing that it is a season. That is not a permanent part of your life it’s just a season of your life, a season of your calling, a time when you choose to use that season for that which it is designed and to achieve the maximum and most productive use of that season for your calling.

So what are the seasons in your calling and in your life?

We go into greater detail with the importance of seasons in our course, “Unlocking the God Code Within You” and “Divinely Designed.” But this will get you started.

Divinely Designed; Law of Creation, 3

Did you know that you are Divinely Designed; that within you there is a God Code. We’re here to help you unlock the God Code within you and to bring forth the Divine Design within you.

We have said that we humans are created an image of God–that God is a Creator God. And even though we cannot speak something from nothing, we do have the ability to bring forth and to create outcomes and results in our life.

We are looking at the law of creation and today we want to look at the law of creation that relates to separation and preparation. On day three, we read that God separated land from the water. And then he brought forth the grass, herbs and the trees. We’re talking about environments.

Environments. What are the environments that are most supportive for you, for your unique calling, for your best work? Where do you do your best work? What environments are supportive for you?

Now we’re talking not only about physical environments. We also are talking about mental, emotional, social environments. In fact, in our course, “Unlocking the God Code Within You” and “Divinely Designed”, we go into greater depth; extensive depth; of the importance of our environment. But today, let’s just think simply about our physical environment. Where do we do our best work?

Do we need a quiet office? Do we prefer a sit down desk or a stand up desk? Do we do most of our creative work through speaking, writing, videoing? Do we do our best work in the kitchen cooking, do we do our best work performing on a stage? Do we need people who will affirm us in our work and, and give us compliments on the steps along the way? What are those environments that are most supportive for us in bringing about that uniqueness within us, that the world so desperately needs?

Where do you do your best work? What environment supports you? Have you thought about that?

I want to encourage you to take some time today, take a pad of paper and a pen or make some notes on your smartphone device, your computer, your laptop, but think through this question. Where do I do my best work?

Determine what your supportive environments are and seek those out. Specifically, if you can seek those out and be in those environments when you’re focusing on your top priorities, you’ll be able to get your best work done.

We want to help you bring forth the Divine Design within you and to unlock the God Code within you. That’s what we’re here for. We hope that you’ll continue with us on this journey.

Now go out today and make today an Amazing Day!

Divinely Designed; Law of Creation, 2

Did you know that you are Divinely Designed, that within you, there is a God Code?

We are here to help you unlock that God Code within you, help you to discover and bring forth that Divine Design within you.

We are talking about the law of creation as it relates to our Divine Design. We said that God is a creator and that we as individuals, formed in the image of God also share in that creative ability. Now while we don’t have the ability to call forth something out of nothing as God does we do have the ability to speak life over our lives and to bring forth that which we desire.

So, there are elements within the law of creation that we can apply and put into practice in our life. Today we want to look at the law of creation as relates to Division.

On the second day of Creation we read that God divided the waters above from the waters beneath. So there was a separation of what was above from what was below. You could call these priorities. We touched on this the last time when we discussed the importance of a to do list and a to don’t list.

But even on our to do lists, there are certain things that deserve greater attention, and more focus than others. The second law of creation– the law of division has to do with both priorities and identification; determining what is the good, the better and the best and choosing to focus on that which is going to bring us more closer to our goals than those which may help but may not be quite as crucial.

You know, it’s easy to want to do those good things, those easy things because we can check them off of our list, and have that sense of accomplishment. But activity doesn’t always move us that closer to our goal. We can be active and get a lot of things done but they don’t really move us closer towards our goal, to our end in mind, to bring forth our purpose, our calling to those who need it most.

I want to encourage you to look at your to do list, and to begin categorizing what is truly the most important thing on there. If you could only get one thing done on your to do list today, What is that one thing that would move you closer to your goal?

Then if you could get that one thing done what would be the second thing that would be most important on that list. And then the third– if you can get three of your items on your to do list accomplished in a day, you’ve made great progress, but we have to know what those are.

That is part of the law division which is an aspect of the law of creation, all a part of bringing forth our Divine Design and Unlocking the God Code within us.

So, today, as you look at your to do list, determine which ones will move you closer to your goal, to your calling, to your vision and to your purpose that make up what you were placed on this earth to do, and focus your energies your time, your focus on those, one, two or three things.

That’s the law of division as it relates to priorities and identification. Part of our divine design.

Divinely Designed; Law of Creation, 1

Did you know that you are divinely designed–that within you, there is a God Code?

We are here to help you unlock that God Code within you, help you to discover and bring forth the Divine Design within you.

We read that man is created and woman is created in the image of God. We also know that God is a creator. So we begin this series on discussing the laws of creation, as it relates to our Divine Design and the God Code within us.

Unlike God we cannot speak things into existence from nothing to something, but our words do have power, and we are able to implement the laws of creation in our own life and bring about what we desire.

The first law that I would like to speak to, regarding the law of creation is what I call ILLUMINATION.

We read that in the beginning, God created heaven and the earth. The earth was without form, and void, and darkness was on the face of the deep. And God said, Let there be light and there was light.

The first thing that God did was to bring light to darkness, and to separate the two. This speaks to the importance of having clarity in our life. We go into a deeper dive of the law of illumination and clarity in our “Unlocking the God Code Within You” course, but I want to give you a few simple things you can do today to begin bringing for clarity in your own life.

This sounds very simple but it’s very powerful exercise: I want you to create two lists. One list of things to do, which we all already have plenty of things to do, but you may not have a “to don’t” list.

What are those things that you no longer want to do; that are not serving you; that are pretty much a waste of your time? You know that there are certain desires, certain dreams, certain passions within you that you feel that you are put here on this earth to do. There’s a certain gifting within you– a calling on your life that you are expected to bring forth and share with the world. You know what that is.

Those are the things that need to be on your to do list.

Now I know that we have other obligations and commitments, as parents, as husbands and wives sons, daughters, family members, friends, employees– there are a lot of demands on our time.

But we have to make sure that  which is unique to us; our calling;  does get put on our to do list and more importantly it gets put on our calendar. A specific day, a specific time that we treat with just as much importance and priority as we would any other appointment we have put on there, such as  a doctor’s appointment, an interview, whatever it may be, and we treat the calling on our life with an equal amount of importance in priority.

Put those things on your to do list.

On your to don’t list there may be some things that you need to put aside. The story is told of a concert violinist, who had asked, How was she able to become so well known. She said that when she was in school she realized that she was spending the first part of her day cleaning her room and then practicing her violin, and she decided to switch that and began practicing the violin, first, and then she cleaned her room.

Some days she did not get to clean a room, but she did get in violin practice.

In the same way,  you may have to leave something undone, a day or two, in order to make sure that you spend time on your calling.

That is the importance of clarity; of illumination. Beginning to focus on what is truly important, and knowing what those important things are.

That’s one of the first steps we can take in the law of illumination as relates to the law of creation, which is part of our Divine d\Design and  the God Code within us.

We will continue this next time.

Now go out and make today an Amazing Day!
